Grace Baptist Church, situated in Winterset, Iowa, is a community of individuals who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior. We are dedicated to embodying the teachings of Jesus in our daily attitudes, words, and actions.

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture and that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.

We desire to glorify God and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.

FOUNDATIONS FOR CHRISTIAN GROWTH

Christian growth is similar to human beings. Just as a baby needs milk to grow and be healthy, so do people who have begun a new life in Jesus Christ.

Human beings, including the great saints of the Bible such as Joshua, struggle with inadequacy, fear, and dismay.

Strength and courage do not come from within, but from trusting God and obeying His Word.

HANDLING THE PAST BIBLICALLY

Your past will enslave you and keep you from serving and glorifying God if you let it be the final word on who you are and where you are going in life. The Bible has answers for properly handling one's past. Your past is only one part of a greater story God wants to write.

Pastor Brian & Caryl Demers

Pastor Brian Demers joined Grace Baptist Church in October 2024, bringing with him twenty-five years of pastoral experience from two churches located in Maine and upstate New York.

Raised in Maine, Pastor Demers graduated high school in 1988. Convinced that God had called him to pastoral ministry, he pursued a college degree in pastoral studies with a focus on Biblical counseling. After graduating in 1992, he returned to Maine in order to gain practical pastoral experience in a local Baptist church. He was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 2001.

In 1997, Pastor Demers married Caryl, who also hails from Maine. Together, they have three adult children—a daughter and two sons—as well as a daughter-in-law.
