The Apostle Paul is calling for unity in the church of Rome.  He desires for them to be a singular body free from discrimination towards one another.  He calls for the elimination of arrogance which fuels discrimination, strife, and division.

The first statement of verse ten, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love” refers to the devotion and love typically found within a family, such as the mutual care and unbreakable commitment between parents and children. 

The Lord Jesus Christ founded His church to be interconnected and interdependent, living in community for mutual benefit. Every believer should be fully invested in a local church through membership and contributing their time, talents, and abilities. Being passive or merely a consumer in church is disobedience to the Lord’s commands.

"Considering one another" refers to an attitude that guides appropriate behavior towards brothers and sisters in Christ.

One practical way of expressing love for one another is to "Greet one another with a holy kiss" or a "kiss of love."
